My typist and I have noticed that we have gotten a fair number of new members of late! While we are both thrilled by this and happy to see the number and variety of people in our company grow (well, not entirely. I for one would be happy to see certain sorts leave, quite frankly), some difficultly has been caused by the fact that it has become more common for newcomers to not state what work they are from in their introduction.
My typist apologizes, but says that she is, quote, "a bad geek" and has heard of many famous works of literature that she has not actually read. Because of this, she might not recognize a specific character's name, but will have a better understanding of the character if they say where they are from. My excuse is better - I just haven't been around for the last couple hundred years, so how am I supposed to know who anyone is? *grin* So if all newcomers (and those who have recently arrived) could be sure to mention their source, we would both be forever grateful.
And yes, typist, this will be the last time we agree about anything, for the record.
