"Niiiiita!" And here is a Kit, who has been rather dreadfully lonely, and is, of a consequence, inclined to hug. And then cling a bit. (Yay for complete lacks of inclination to stupid macho nonsense!)

She clings back unabashedly. "Hi! What are you doing? Where in the heck are we? What's going on?"

Cling! Cling! "Hi! I haven't been doing much, I don't know where we are, really, there's a house and a lake and a wood and Ed's here, and the Lotus, and I really don't know what's going on."

"Wait, what? Slow down-- what did you say?"

Kit laughs. "Sorry! Okay, right." More slowly. "I've been researching, mostly, trying to figure out what this place is. I haven't been able to find much, though. The Lotus is here, and Ed turned up earlier today. I've been starting to get a little worried."

"Starting?"

"...Yes?" Kit looks mildly abashed.

"Starting to get worried?" Nita thumps his arm. "I take it this wasn't part of your plan either."

Kit winces dramatically. "Nope! Not in the least. I was just getting ready for school and then - poof! Woods!"

[hniit]

"Oh, good grief." She pushes a hand through her hair, and then eyes him sharply. "You didn't walk out in traffic or something, did you?"

Kit looks massively uncomfortable. "Not as far as I remember. I hadn't even gotten to the stairs. I was just picking up my backpack. But I have been wondering that, myself."

[hniit]

"Oh great. Terrific." Nita sits down abruptly on the ground. "Just what we need."

"Hey," Kit says, and drops down next to her, throwing an arm around her shoulders. "Hey, I don't think that's really the most likely explanation. I mean - I'm pretty sure dying hurts. And Nita? The Lone Power's here. It wouldn't be..."

[hniit]

"It-- WHAT?"

Nita sputters. "Why didn't you say that to begin with!"

Kit looks guilty. "Sorry! I just hadn't seen you for so long, and It didn't seem that interested in me when it saw me - "

Nita buries her head in her hands. "You'd better hope you're dead, mister. Because if you're not, I'm going to kill you."
