Yet another crack plot!

*walks in, carrying a large enchanted mirror (is there any other kind?)*

I'm sorry for the intrusion, everyone, but I've got a small problem ... well, small probably isn't the right word. You see, I've been making a few adjustments to the usual sequence for constructing simulacra, and I'm afraid I've run into more trouble than I thought. *brightens at the prospect of Explaining Things to People* Simulacra, as I'm sure you know, are manifestations of individuals. They aren't exactly sentient, but they do possess traits associated with the originator. They tend to be largely impotent, though as I said, the difficulties I've experienced in this experiment have proved that to have somewhat startling effects. It appears that this brand of simulacra can, in some instances, either duplicate or in some cases outright usurp an individual's magical aura.

I've been successful in containing the side effects of this setup so far, although a rather strong-willed hurrok gave me some trouble. But I need to find out how the new procedure will adapt to other things.

So, anyone feel like looking in the mirror?

Typist: For those non-Tortallans who didn't get the above Numair-ese, simulacra are copies of people. They generally don't have much going for them -- or any sort of magical power, for that matter -- unless they're very good. ~sidelong grin at Daine~ Characters who touch the mirror will thus find an imperfect copy of themselves peering out in a matter of minutes. But as Numair tried to tell you, these simulacra can steal some or all of a person's magic, or just duplicate a lesser version of it. (Imperfect godmodding and such.) Numair can help finish off someone who gives you trouble, though, as they're all technically his, so he pwns them.

Just another, happy note -- simulacra are generally made only by mad scientists or those looking to protect themselves from Those Who Wish Harm On Them. So they usually end up -- well, if you've seen Farscape, it can be a bit like that. :-P
