Introductions are in order

*sweeps his cloak around and bows low* Good evening, ladies and gentlemen.

My name is Drosselmeyer. Often people call me Godfather Drosselmeyer...I am not your godfather, perhaps, but I am someone's godfather, and that is enough. If you do not like that, then simply Drosselmeyer will do.

I am a clockmaker by trade, but my chief delight is making toys. Dolls that dance on their own power and puppets that look alive and little clockwork animals that caper about and blink their glass eyes...yes, I might know everything there is to know about clocks, but those are dull workhorses compared to the real wonders that can be wrought in gears and springs.

I had a very peculiar Nutcracker once, but that....ah, that is a story for another night.

Typist:.....yes, another puppet. I don't know why it took me so long to get this one...Godfather Drosselmeyer from E.T.A. Hoffmann's story "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King."

I, er, hope the German is ok. I used Babelfish! Don't kill me!
