*distant look* I should like to take my beloved and leave this place--not for-ever, but for a time-- and go to some country place, where we might lay ourselves upon the grass, tangled in eachother's arms, and watch the sky-- to say 'ay, I see a bird!' or 'nay, tis but a horse and carriage' and all the more have seen nothing but a cloud. In this place, which smelt of honeysuckle, sweet upon the breeze, we'd laugh, and talk in quiet tones, and ev'ry once or twice pause and feed eachother berries, for these would be wild, and tart, and pleasing to the palette. We would picnic later, dig our bare toes deep within the grass, and fight, seranaded by the crickets, for the patch of shade beneath the tallest tree. And before the fall of night, cool night, and the lonely call of owls heralding the orb's bright chariot away, I would smile, lay my purple-stain'd fingers upon that cheek, and-- and know nought but happiess.
That, my dear lady, should be my midsummer's dream.
