*peers around cautiously, taking in everything* Well, I hope I don't get caught on the computer. Gordon wouldn't be too happy about that. *rolls her eyes, but still looks slightly frightened* Right now I'm at what they would call a "foster home", but what we call a hellhole. "We" includes my sisters - there's a total of four of us. We're not really blood-related, but ... sometimes we just pretend, and it helps. Brooke's here already. She's my roommate.
... I'm going to say some things that need saying. And hopefully people here don't judge me by my family. *fierce, yet worried look* The day after I was born, my dad ran off. He left me to live with (and take care of) Mama, a drug addict. Then one day, Mama got thrown in jail, and later escaped from the rehabilitation clinic. I got sent to live with my uncle's family. ... *bites lip awkwardly* Uncle Reuben's a bad man, and I hope to never see anyone like him again.
Mama always told me that men were like traps; they tempted you with golden promises of perfect days and true love. And once you're in? SNAP. The trap closes, and you don't see the light of day again. In fact, all the women in my life have told me that. Sometimes I really wonder.
Something cheerful? Well, I kind of can sing. I'd like to go to California and be a singer someday. *slight smile* We all have dreams - all of my sisters and I. And hopefully, some day, they'll all come true. ... Oh, I almost forgot. I'm Raven, by the way.
