Hello to you all. I'm Kelson Haldane, king of Gwynedd, and it is good to be a part of such an interesting company. *bows*

Please pardon me if I'm a trifle awkward. There aren't any particular social rules to cover this sort of situation, and I'm afraid I'm rather used to everyone knowing me. *rueful smile* The young woman who appears bent on rearranging my desk so that I can't find any of my work suggests I start by explaining a bit about myself. It seems sound advice and her hair reminds me a little of Rothana so I will take it.

I am the only son of King Brion Haldane, and Queen Jehana. I came to the throne four years ago, when I turned fourteen, shortly after my father was murdered by a woman who claimed she had a right to the throne. She tried to kill me too, but she failed.

I am half-Deryni, and I respect that half of my heritage even if my lady mother would rather I ignored it. I will no more renounce it than I would renounce my Haldane blood and abilities. Both are important to who I have become. And besides, it's foolish to persecute a group of people merely because of what they happen to be. So I've been doing my best to change things. It's going well, too. People will change when you're reasonable with them.

*smiles shyly* That aside, has anyone seen any glimpse of Dughal McArdy? He's a bit shorter than I am, red hair, silver tongued, so sharp he cuts himself? Probably been dancing girls off into corners and kissing them? He's really unmistakable. If you have, he is my dearest friend, and I hope he will come out of hiding to talk to me.

Edit from Aforementioned Secretary: Sorry, completely forgot to remind him. His majesty is from The Deryni Chronicles and The Histories of King Kelson, both series being the work of Katherine Kurtz. He's a dear, but we're both a bit absentminded, sometimes.
