Hello, hello! Why, what a charming young lady you are, Miss March! And sisters, you say! Are any of them in distress at the moment? I should like to save them.

... Now if you'll excuse me ...

*digs around in various drawers*

*tears apart his dresser top*

... *finds something shiny and gets distracted by it*

*bristles* I am not a lady. Never want to be one, as a matter of fact. *silently throws brush somewhere far, far away*

..Amy could be termed to be in distress. She might like you, after all.

I am not! I'm distressed, and it's different. Don't you try to get rid of me with shiny distractions, sister.

*raises an eyebrow* In distress? Distressed? How, dear Amy, are those different? *sulks a bit* I'm NOT! I really thought you would like him. *glances at him and smirks* Look how charming/i> he is, Amy...

There is a difference. When one is distressed, one is upset. When one is in distress, one is in peril, in danger, in some sort of actual trouble. He can't rescue me from my emotions, now can he?

Not all that charming. And I'm sorry, I shouldn't have assumed.

*laughs, noticing him there* Silly boy. I have about as much interest in this prince charming creature as I do in John Brooke.
