He's poking his head in, though the place seems strangely quiet. Still he takes his place in his usual chair by the fireplace and waits, hoping that someone will come along to speak with.

And she comes - because friendships are important things, because despite the strange things happening (influx of people who are visible in parts of the Mansion, but not in others, what the hell), Anita keeps business as usual.

She'll stand in the doorway and smirk.

"Waiting for someone, handsome?"

Hiiiiiii! People are still there! Really! ^^

He smiles rather widely, glad for the sudden appearance of the familiar face. "I think perhaps you, chérie. How have you been?"

She grins in return and wanders over to sit on the arm of his chair. "I've been alright, I guess. How've you been, Frenchie?"

"I've been very well, actually. It seems these days things are looking up for me." He very nearly takes her hand but reconsiders the gesture, wondering if it does not seem too familiar a thing to do. "But you..you only guess that you are alright?"

Repositioning himself a bit so he might look at her better he tilts his head to the side as he asks, "Why is it you only guess?"

She gives him a sweet grin. "Oh, no, Lestat. I'm fine. It's just a figure of speech. Really."

"Well yes, of course." Resting his elbow on the arm of the chair and, in turn, his head on his hand he continues to observe her. "But I worry for you from time to time. Perhaps I should not. But in any case I do. I suppose it is inevitable for you cared enough about me to speak to me when I myself seemed so very troubled and every time after that."

"I worry about you too, Lestat," what with your complicated love life, is the implication. "You know you can always talk to me, right? After all, it's what friends are for." And she nudges him companionably. There's nothing sexual about this - just ... friendship, of the durable and stable kind.

It's a bit odd for Anita Blake, but there it is.

He nods. "Yes. Actually I'm quite certain of it." There is the small hint of a smile playing on his lips once more as he brushes a bit of hair out of his own face with a soft sigh. "And you know you're always welcome to say whatever it is that is on your mind. I shall always listen."

She chuckles, a little. "Heh - the place's been funny lately, Lestat. Guess I should mention that."

"What do you mean funny?" He isn't quite certain he knows what she speaks of and so he does not assume. "In what way?"

"Strange-funny. Quiet, I guess."

There is a small nod. "I'd noticed a bit, though I was not certain if it was simply me. I have not been around to truly note the changes and so-- I thought perhaps it was simply like this sometimes, I suppose."

"It comes and goes - I won't complain about it, though."
