Young Ned, your dear Chess Club President (never mind that it only has three members), has currently lost his glasses. Therefore, he is presently squinting at the universe, trying to figure out where they are.

He alas can't see very well, and is making a mess of the notes he was making for his algebra final.

He really, really, really could use a hand.

Someone comes over, plucks the pen away, and dangles the glasses in front of Ned's nose, probably watching his eyes cross with a touch of slightly nasty amusement. "Missing something, Neddo," says Oberyn, who apparently bored enough to venture into wherever he's hanging out looks almost delighted to find entertainment. "Looking a little short-sighted."

He reaches to take the glasses, typist willing. "Oh, there they were. Thank you so much..."

He's alas not really acknowledging the taunt. It may or may not be on purpose.

Oberyn draws the glasses away and proceeds to try them on. "I don't understand how you can wear these at all. They're pretty damn uncomfortable."

He stands uncomfortably, dusts himself off. "If you would return them, I would be grateful, Oberyn. We are not all blessed with perfect vision."

He squints. "All right. Give me a headache anyway. So what are you - doing? Something intriguing, it appears," taking the papers instead to flip through them.

"Certainly something you wouldn't care about, Oberyn," he says after he's put his glasses back on. "Seeing as it actually involves work."

"I work. I work a lot. Just not on algebra." His smile is thoroughly rakish. "That is what this is, right?"

"Your perceptiveness is impressive," Ned replies, mildly. "Though I moved on to revising derivatives and anti-derivative functions. Binomials are boring." He shrugs.

Typist hasn't done algebra in a million years. Can you tell?

Oberyn rolls his eyes. "For Christ's sake, Ned, could you get a little duller? It's no wonder no one doesn't show up for Chess club. Not a bad game in itself."

...never mind. still apparently not awake!

He straightens his back, all injured pride oozing out. "What are you insinuating, Martell?"

"That if you knew how to spin it people would want to play this game. I mean, what's not to like? You go around killing someone else's people. Exactly what people like about Halo 3."

Blaaaah, video games.

"There's a fundamental difference between the two, though."

"Yeah, one's not in a TV. Come on, Ned, I'm telling you how to get people interested."

One actually requires brain.

"What are you saying, Oberyn?" He doesn't look very enthusiastic, but.

Well, yes. But Oberyn is ignoring that for the moment. He sits on the table and props his feet up on another. "I'm talking about image. If you thought about it anymore you could make things work your way."
