how to make the sun rise

Jun 16, 2009 15:21

There is a young man standing just outside the Mansion-- a knight, if you will. His armor is green, ornate without being counter productive in battle, a bit tarnished; obviously, he's recently left a battle.

He looks confused.

He could have sworn boiling oil was about to be poured on him.

Really. These things should be a bit more... permanent. ( Read more... )

Robb doesn't actually know Loras. Or at least doesn't recognize him on sight. But Grey Wind isn't going after him, so he makes the decision to be polite and takes a few steps down from the porch. "Ser?"

This one bares an odd resemblance to someone Loras has met-- but he can't place them... her. He can't place it, as it were, so he simply bows, lightly, and nods back to the man with the giant wolf... oh, that clears a bit up, it does.

"Yes?" Now, the question of which Stark this indeed is comes to mind. Loras bets it's the kingly one, because that would just be par the course, really.

Doesn't it? There aren't many people with giant wolves floating around. "I take it you just arrived," without returning the bow, and hello, obvious, but. "Your name?"

Meanwhile, Loras is trying to remember Robb's name (is this Rickon? No, no, that's the crippled one, right?) when he shrugs, smiling, to nod.

"Ser Loras Tyrell of the Kingsguard. And you?"

"Robb Stark, Lord of Winterfell and" until lately "King in the North." A little flatly, watching him for his reaction to that. And now he recognizes the name, a little, vaguely. He thinks Sansa might have said something about him, once, or twice. Or a few times.

Oh, Sansa, you were such fun. Loras does really regret you not being able to marry Willas; the wedding would have been fabulous.

...aha.

Anyway. Loras nods, remembering, now. Right, that was his name. Loras bows as deeply as a dead king can expect, and says, "A pleasure, your grace."

You saw no namefail here, shh >>

Robb inclines his head slightly, still frowning a bit, but this one isn't a Lannister, isn't a Frey, and doesn't seem immediately hostile. He relaxes a little, though still leaving a hand on Grey Wind's ruff. "And you, I'll assume."

Loras is rarely immediately hostile, unless you might've had something to do with that assassination of Renly fiasco? No? Carry on, then.

He smiles, "Hopefully so. I'd hate to make or meet an enemy so recently arrived... in wherever this place is." That's an invitation to go all explainy-what's-going-ony if you want to take it, Robb.

No idea. Wasn't there, doesn't know what happened, is dead himself, all that. Don't worry about it, Loras.

He half smiles back; out of his homicidal mode Robb is a fairly boy still, and amiable enough. "Reasonable enough. And - ah, yes." A pause, to gather what he knows. "I'm afraid - nothing's entirely clear about this place, but it's known as the Mansion and seems to...not follow the rules."

To Robb's Starkly head this still bothers him.

Loras won't, not for right now.

"Not follow the rules? How troubling. In any particular ways I should be aware...?"

Oh, your poor Starkly head. It got you into a bit of trouble, and there it is, troubling you again.

It creates so many problems. Really, having Grey Wind's was probably better, the wolf has more sense.

"Only a few people here are from Westeros." Mouth thins. And I don't like most of them. "The remainder are from places I, frankly, wasn't aware existed." And that is ignoring the being turned into a girl thing because Robb did not like that.

Thankfully, Loras has the brains not to say that. Right now. Somewhere. We think.

Loras is sure you made a pretty girl, Robb, sh. He smiles, "Oh? Any I should be aware of?" Loras maybe looks a little too over eager, here. If Robb is dead...

Robb gives Loras a lot of glares. But only metaly, because out of meta he's kind of liking Loras.

Sorry, Loras. Robb frowns. "Possibly. Jaime Lannister," damn the man, "the Hound, a - Davos Seaworth, one of Stannis's men-" Absently, that, trying to think.

He doesn't know about Oberyn, at this point.

Everyone likes Loras! Unless they're stupid, but then it's okay. Anyway. Loras looks interested-- his commander is here? Oh. And the Hound. Huh. And--

Loras' eyes go hard and cold and the veneer slips a bit. "One of Stannis' men, oh?"

And how flammable did you take him for, pray tell? Baring that, how thick was his armor?

Reply

eldeststark June 18 2009, 21:05:15 UTC
Quite flammable, and sans armor! But Robb is more startled by the reaction. "--I believe so, yes," eying Loras with consideration, but then he remembers, a little, and it all make sense.

Might as well cut to the chase. "Killing people doesn't stick, here." As demonstrated with one (1) Kingslayer so recently.

This twists the sneer and flat scowl upwards into a smile, almost, "No matter. Once should be enough for me." And if it isn't, he can do it again. And again. And again.

Loras has not had his revenge yet. And he wants it.
