Enter the Princess of the Dead

The hands were all over her body, carrying her down the halls, and she was screaming, kicking, clawing and biting at whatever she could get a hold of. They weren’t taking her away from Louis, or her new mother. The hands gripped her even tighter and the ceiling above her shook and bounced and passed by with such speed that her infuriated mind couldn’t even comprehend.

A door opened at her head and she clung to the frame as they tried to push her through, but she wouldn’t let them. She was afraid, because left in her small body, there was nothing she could do and no way that she could fight. And as they threw her in, she scrambled back to the door and began pounding at it, her nails scraping down the wood and pulling away shavings.

Standing up, she whirls around to face the room and is instead confronted by a long entry way, and no sense of danger. Whatever Armand had up his sleeve, she was willing to bet that she would have to be extra aware to avoid it. She took a few steps in, noting that they hadn’t put her mother in with her, and bumped into a small table against the wall. Breathing in deep, she could smell humans, and the dead, and even some scents that were nothing like she had ever smelled before. And there were others… very familiar others.

“Louis?” and then, with some serious disdain, “Lestat?”

Perfect.
