Because he can't find another way to get in touch with Lestat besides returning to the Villa where he spoke to Marius (and Louis won't consider that), he writes a note and leaves it on the mansion's cork board. This was what Marius instructed him to do when he needed him, so he supposes that someone would pass the note to Lestat.

Claudia is asking for you. Forget what I've said, and come see her. Do not be worried by my presence; I will give you both time alone and return once you are through.
