Mr. Harmony fondly regards the front room of the Mansion; although he has only just arrived, he has every confidence that he and the master of the house shall be excellent friends shortly, and he wants only a friendly introduction to make it so. In the meantime, he is cataloguing the furniture, the draperies, the pattern of the floor, to slip in a bit of sincere but well-placed praise at a later time (and he makes a mental note to say nothing of the servants; a man can hardly help it if his servants are too occupied with other tasks to come to help a visitor with his coat and hat, and who is Mr. Harmony to criticize what a man can hardly help?).
"Well!" declares Mr. Harmony, after he has finished his survey of the surroundings. "Whoever has had the good fortune to have come into possession of this house, I should certainly like to meet him!"
