Hanging off the bandwagon (Intro)

He comes, his mount fully loaded with scavenged goods and remnants of food - his clothes are ripped, his arms are bloodied but whole, his eyes are full of simmering fury.  At his side, the trusty sword, clean and well furbished, the golden hilt gleaming in the sun’s last rays. On his back, the arrows and the bow, ready to be taken.

A little brother does appear shortly after Caranthir yells, but not from the direction his brother was expecting, he doesn't appear to have come from battle, he looks shocked to see his brother...and a moment later a second redheaded little brother appears. "Caranthir? I...I'm here."

Another moment of complete befuddlement. The annoying undead cousin was one thing. The dead little brother is another completely.

.....

"Ambarussa. You're...." He takes a step back. "What sorcery is this?"

He's just about to draw his sword again.

Pityo's eyes are a little wide and staring as he looks his older brother over and realizes just when he was. Telvo is just staying very still and looking awkward. The twins exchange a worried glance before Pityo takes a hesitant step forward, trying to soothe the big brother. "No, this is not sorcery. Look around you, this is not where you were. That is the magic, this place somehow draws people in and now it's brought you here, too."

"You and I both. We have to get back on the road and hit it, to Amon Ereb. We must leave this place of spells and illusions before night fall."

He's deliberately not looking at Telvo. Illusions of a cherished dead brother are not good - they hurt, and Carnistir does not feel pain, anguish, or regret, ever. Of course not.

"Where is your mount? Get it, we must leave anon!"

Pityo shakes his head again. "This is no illusion, brother. Please, come inside, Nelyo is here, and Cano, and Tyelko. If you won't listen to us, listen to them."

"Tyelko, here? He's run in defeat, in the direction of Nargothrond. Why the hell would he be here? Have you forgotten the Oath? Have you ALL forgotten the oath?"

"That was years ago!" His brother's stubbornness is starting to poke at Pityo's own formidable temper. "The battle was years ago! Tyelko is here, even though he died seeking the Silmaril in Doriath. He died, and Curufinwe died, and you died! I died, Maitimo died! The only members of our family not to meet a bloody end were Cano and Artanis! And dammit, why don't you remember?"

..... The icon keyword should read WHAT DO YOU MEAN I'M DEAD?

"IT WAS MOMENTS AGO, AND WE'RE OFF TO AMON EREB, YOU LITTLE...." he actually takes a step, ready to grab Pytio by the ears and put him over his shoulder, potato-bag style. Oh yes.

They need to get the hell out of this crazy place before his little brother goes even more insane.

Pityo stands his ground, hands tightened into fists, a thread of real pain beneath the fury in his voice. "I saw you dead. You and Tyelkormo and Curufinwe lying dead on the floor of Doraith, blood everywhere. All three of you gone in one day and nothing gained, not a damn thing to show for it. I remember the sword going through me and falling to the ground and knowing that I was dying and don't you dare say that none of it happened!"

"What I dare say happen is we just got out of the battle field in Dagor Bragollach, Thargelion is no longer mine, and I need to re-start. Fingolfin, that idiot, when to defy the ennemy. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that his body is but shreds. That happened. Telvo died at Losgar. That happened. But you and I live, and so do our brothers. Your mind has been turned by this place."

And he's not hearing any more of this gibberish, so he'll be lunging to pick up Pityo as planned, and carry him off. Crazy brothers are not cool.

Pityo isn't going to go quietly, he gives up on convincing his brother with words so he fights back. Telvo joins in and together they attempt to subdue their elder brother. At least to restrain him enough that he might listen.

And who knows, maybe actually feeling Telvo's hands grabbing him might bring some sense into him.

Also, Cara. Cara, Cara, Cara. Pityo being crazy makes him different from the way you remember him how?

Well, Caranthir isn't going to draw his sword on his own brothers, so he's going to be fighting barehanded, and he's really grabbing more than trying to hit. What? he's feeling responsible for baby brother!

What's going to actually give the twins the total upper hand is the fact that he totally discounted Telvo - ghosts aren't a physical threat, right? So feeling those hands, indeed, does make him snap and look at him more.. well, in the face.

"You're dead, little brother. You died at Losgar. Let me go. Let him go." And he resists, but yeah, between the two of them and the fact that he's starting to be flaily a little, he's going to have issues.

"I know that!" Telvo looks unhappy and upset and determined as he continues to hold tight to his brother's arm. "And I'll let go of your arm when you shut up and listen."

"And stop being so damned stubborn, we're telling you the truth." Pityo falls silent at a warning look from his twin.

"Please," Telvo says. "Just come inside, talk to the others, hear what they have to say before you decide that anyone's gone mad."

Carastir just looks at his identical brothers with the most annoyed, stern, stubborn look they've ever received from him.

"Fine. I want to see Maglor, if you're saying he's the only one who's not dead."

He shakes them off moodily, but there might be a gleam of brotherly love in the corner of his eyes, lurking.

Another bit and he'll be happy to see you, Telvo.

Pityo returns the look with general pissed-offed-ness. Telvo just looks exasperated. It's tiring being the only truely sane member of your immediate family. "Come on, then," Telvo says, moving to drag Cara along by the arm if he doesn't come entirely willingly. "Let's go, he'll probably be up at the house."

"Wait. My horse. I'm going to put it somewhere first." Hey, he's being practical. "So stables first, then house."

And he just looks at the twins a moment. Sighs. "Let me go, Telvo, I'm not going anywhere."
