Ow. (or, introduction)

Aug 31, 2008 23:05

There's someone sprawled on the front lawn looking fairly messy. Messy here meaning 'covered in dirt, blood, and other assorted slime from being just-fighting, more or less. Upon first glance, he looks dead. Second glance he also looks dead, but third time around he's definitely breathing, and also definitely in one piece despite all that mess. ( Read more... )

Finrod's first thought is that someone else ran afoul of the wolves.

Then he realizes he recognizes the armor. He runs to his cousin, dropping to his knees beside him and checking for life, then that found for wounds. He's distantly surprised that there don't seem to be as many as the blood would indicate. "Findekano."

Opening his eyes, blinking, and then frowning, eyebrows drawing down. "Finrod, what am I..." He reaches up and touches his face, hesitantly. "You're not dead."

He shakes his head slightly, not enough to dislodge Fingon's hand, and grips his cousin's shoulder reassuringly. "No, not anymore. How are you feeling?"

"Sore," a pause, "but alive. How is that? How are you, and me..."

He was pretty sure he was dead.

"I don't know," he says. "We were dead, nearly all of us were, but somehow, this place..." He hesitates, thinking. "It's hard to describe."

"Who's here?" Because there are some things that are important.

"None of your brothers or your sister, I'm sorry to say. Angarato and Artanis, Cano, Tyelko, Ambarussa, Tyelpinquar, and Maitimo." He gives Fingon a slight smile when he names Maitimo, he remembers how close they were.

A bit of a frown for most of them. Especially Tyelko, because we discovered that apparently Fingon really Doesn't Like that one.

He does smile, a very little. That's good, that a Maitimo is here.

"Come on," he says, offering a hand. "Let's get you inside and we'll find him." It's not safe out there for a wounded elf, with the wolves lurking about.

He takes the hand and hauls himself to his feet. "That sounds like a good idea. I hope he hasn't gotten into too much trouble."

Mae, trouble? Finrod's momentary silence may be worrying. "I'm sure you'll hear everything when you see him." He makes sure that his cousin has his balance and stays close in case he needs the help, leading the way to the house.

He's more or less all right, just mostly sore at this point. And it is worrying. He frowns. "I'm sure I'll ask."

That doesn't stop Finrod from worrying a bit, he cares about his cousins and Fingon was just dead after all. He nods. "He'll be glad to see you, too. Let's get you cleaned up, first." Being covered with blood and other remenants of battle can't be very nice.

A grimace. "That sounds like the best idea I've heard all day."

"A room, then, and time to clean up before anything else. There's plenty of rooms around the rest of us, we've stayed close together."

"Good." He's not going far from cousins that need protecting, i.e. that have been dead. Because that's not okay.
