This ain't Tortall
Slowly, a tall young woman walks into the room. Her hair is pulled back in a severe braid. At first glance, her face doesn't seem to brook any nonsense at all, but as she looks around, her face is lit up by a bright, warm smile. Her eyes are the most startling- ice blue, which don't seem to match her hair.
She bites her lip. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea. Meeting new people is hard. And she's never been the best at talking anyhow. But everyone's been saying she ought to get out, meet some people who aren't Dogs. Well, here she is.
She looks around and drawls, "Well, this be a mighty fine place. Nicer even than my Lord Provost's mansion." With that, she sits on the floor, leaning against a nearby couch.
