No, this is not a joke.

There may be a boat, on the lake, very early this morning.

On this boat, there may be a woman, beautiful, tall and proud, eyes clear as pond water, hair golden to match the Light of the Trees. She looks about, and her eyes fill with wonder and concern - this is not the Great River that leads to Osgiliath. This is not the way to Minas Tirith - ( Read more... )

Angrod saw the boat from higher ground, and since it was so clearly an elven craft, he's wandered down post haste to see what was going on.

Since it looks like it's baby sister, he's just going to grin uncontrollably. "Artanis-?"

"Angarato...." awed and happy, and pleasantly surprised, but confused as well...

Her brothers have been dead for a long time, now....

"It is you." He smiles, because that is what Angrods do, and seeing the confusion and understanding the source, extends both hands to her, as though to prove he's solid. "I know, I don't get it either. But it's me, I promise."

It's so tempting to believe.... she claps them, and feeling that they are real, whispers a praise. "Onóro, how can this be?" But she smiles - because even if this is untrue, the glee fills her heart.

"I really don't know. Nothing here has any rhyme or reason to it. And yet. Here we are."

"And you are well? We? Who's we?" Findarato, here?

"I am far better than could otherwise be expected." He's great. He's usually great, it's a deliberate lifestyle choice. "You, me, Findaráto. And some fast-accumulating cousins. Oh, it's good to see you."

"And you, brother." She smiles wider. "If only for the time of this dream...." but it feels so REAL.

"I don't think it's a dream." He grins lopsidedly. "At least, I wouldn't like to think I only existed in someone else's mind -- even yours, sister."

"Now, don't say that, you will make me cry," but she's teasing, of course.

She opens her arms.

"Oh, no, don't do that." He pulls her into a hug at the first sign of invitation. Even if he hasn't been dead for long, it's been ages since he saw her. "Look, I know I'm dead, I do. The memory's pretty distinct. So I know it's strange. But you know, I really, I feel pretty real, here."

She sort of clings. "I know, I know." She sighs. "Just this moment, I don't care. It has been centuries gone, now, brother."

She feels like he is her little brother, now, for her age and his. A little bit protective, even.

For their ages, and that Angy acts about eight most days. And wow, if it's the beginning of the Third Age, it's been about four thousand years for the poor woman. "I'm sorry." He'll try not to die on her again, promise. "How have the centuries been to you?"

"Long. Eventful. There is so much to tell...." She takes in his scent. Even for all this time, he smells the same.

It has only been a couple of weeks. Not much time to change one's cologne. He smiles. "I think we have the time. I'm curious to know all I've missed."

She nods. "And I will tell you all there is too tell, brother." She touches his shoulder, still disbelieving. "And you're well..."
