Through some quirk of the mansion, Valen’s determined efforts led him to find a way back to where he came from. Now he’s back, and some things about him are...different. Several months have passed there for one thing, and at the mansion this is obviously not the case. He hasn’t noticed that yet, though, and the people he knows here are not likely to have even noticed that he’s been gone.
No, the most noticeable difference is not the passage of time, but rather the shimmering, silvery blue lines tracing images over his bare skin. Sea grasses twine through his fingers and up his arms and legs, a dog whelk and, inexplicably, a feral cat peek through them. Mountain peaks mark his chest and back. Most impressive, though, is the gryphon stretching across the left side of his face, down his neck to where talons and a large wing wrap his shoulder, the legs and body of the lion stretch down the side of his chest. Feathers and braided fur continue lower down his body.
He stumbles out of nowhere a short distance into the woods, not too far from the mansion, and looks around, confused. He kneels and presses his palms to the ground, a few moments later his expression turns to exasperated but amused recognition. He rises and starts walking toward the mansion, seeming to either not realize or entirely disregard the fact that he hasn’t got a single stitch of clothing.
Mun: Sooo...Valen's point in canon is updated to just past the end of Breath and Bone, the second book he's in. And yes, he is naked and glowing. :D?
