There is a nice printed sign, in Luther's small, careful lettering, that says, simply, "FREE". The sign is perched upon a handmade oak table, a little one, with scalloped carving-work around the sides, and a smooth, broad surface. *Peter can't read the sign, but he thinks that all toys are his for the taking, so he plops himself down on the floor and starts playing*

Luther opens an eye, regards him for a bit, and decides he's doing all right on his own without grown-ups interfering.

*he certainly is. :D he's making the giraffe and a horse race now, complete with noises that no giraffe or horse ever made*

After listening for a while, he opens his eyes again. Luther gives overwhelmingly sometimes the impression of being a big rock, and particularly so when he's motionless as he is now. A big rock that is smiling.

*ignores him, of course. but he moves on to the cat, poking at it and trying to figure out how it works*

Luther assists by pushing it with his foot. Immediately the legs go clickyclicky as they move.

*looks up and makes a face at Luther*

The rock looks back impassively.

*scowls* Go away.

[greying_raven]

He closes his eyes and settles back in his chair.

That's not away!

It's as away as Peter's going to get. :P

*turns his back and makes the giraffe and the cat do battle*

Luther goes back to dozing and being invisible.

*and when he opens his eyes, Peter will be gone - and oddly enough, the toys will be put away neatly*
