Hold On...

She appears midafternoon, closer to dusk than to afternoon, really, but she doesn't recognize the time. She appears on the floor, a shivering wreck in what was once probably a green dress, her face bruised and her eyes wide and terrified, her cheek pressed against the floor. She does not move for a very long time, panting breathlessly. It takes her a long while to register that it is stone beneath her face, stone, not earth. Cold stone. Almost like ice...

She shivers and cries out, dragging herself to her feet and trying to gather the shreds of her gown around herself, looking around wildly. But it is what it seems - a house. Nothing more, nothing less. She does not relax. Looking down at herself, at the shreds of her gown, she presses one hand to her abdomen, color leeching from her already pale face. "But..." she murmurs, now confused as well as afraid, unsure what to believe. "Axis?" She calls, very hesitantly, wondering if he would respond.

Typist: Faraday, from Sara Douglass's Wayfarer Redemption series, just post Star-Man book. Any conversation will include spoilers up to that point, more than likely, though I'll try to avoid the worst if anyone really wishes me to.
