Armand is tempted, very tempted, by a glass, and is saved from his temptation by spying Draco all young and such.

"Draco?" he asks. "What happened to you?"

Draco narrows his eyes and looks up at Armand. "Do I know you?"

Armand ducks his chin. "I--We did, or we will. You're one of my best friends."

"Best friends?" He sounds skeptical, looking Armand up and down critically. "What's your name?"

Armand fingers the one ring on his right hand, hoping he doesn't annoy the boy too much. "Armand St. Just. I'm originally from Paris."

"St Just? Is that a wizarding family? I've never heard of them."

"We're not. I'm not a wizard, though I know you are."

"You're not a wizard? Then how could we possibly be best friends?" He says with an arrogant scoff.

Armand decides not to tease. "Because when you grow up, you learn a bit of tolerance. It's very necessary in a place where there's far more non-magical people than those with it." That is stretching the truth, but there's no way that Armand is going to explain that even most wizards won't have anything to do with Draco.

He arches an eyebrow. "Whan I grow up? What are you going on about?"

"I thought you'd be used to talk of magic. You're normally a grown man--not terribly old but not a child."

"What? Here?" He looks around in some distaste. Some part of him does remember the place but he's still acting as if he doesn't.

"Yes. Here." He holds out his right hand. "You gave me one of these rings."

He peers at it. "What's it do?"

"It protects against hexes and curses."

"And I gave such a thing to you? A Muggle?"
