An Introduction

She wakes up in a bed that was not hers, is not even the one (also not hers) that she was expecting. She gets up, very cautiously, and ventures out into the hall. There is a small pistol in her hand, and she is dressed neatly but conservatively in the style of the 1950s, a cross and a scarf both around her neck. She might be twenty five, perhaps a bit older, and both her looks and her accent point towards Eastern Europe, though it would take a practiced ear indeed to identify her more conclusively.

She says in Hungarian, "Hello? Is anyone here?" She repeats this in English. When no one answers, she says, with caution and only the smallest hint of panic, "...Paul?"

Typist: Helen Rossi, of Elizabeth Kostova's The Historian. Also, as I know we have a large population who this might apply to... people who can sense such things would know she's been bitten by a vampire. Twice.
