By the fireside (open post)

Feeling the need for a change of scenery, David has taken himself to one of the common rooms. He's lit the fire, and settled himself in front of the hearth. As always there are piles of books strewn around him, an ordered chaos to them that nobody would understand but himself. Her latter comment earns a curious look, "Oh is he a scholar?"

"Ah many things, wide and varied. Some which I'm sure given your husband's occupation, you may be familiar with."

He's intentionally a little vague. Discussing his work has never been something he's done openly.
