Lucivar is bemused, stressed, worried, and frustrated all at the same time, which does not make for a very happy Warlord Prince. He's channeling his nervous energy as he usually does, by practicing with the sticks, but he's shifted by now to just pitching knives at a tree and seeing how far he can embed them without using Craft, his teeth gritted

From behind him, a mild, deep voice asks, "What did that poor tree do to you?"

Lucivar turns around, relieved, and gives Saetan his trademark arrogant grin. "Nothing in particular, but you know me," he says dryly. "Anyway, it was better than throwing it at someone."

"Take care not to damage it too greatly." He crosses his arms and leans back on his heels. "Is there some person you're pretending that tree is?"

He shrugs one shoulder. "Hmm. Could be one of several."

"You're going to make an old man guess?"

[eyrienprince]

"I'm not that mean," Lucivar says with a slight grin. "Some strange fellow who's getting too close to Jaenelle and setting my teeth on edge. But she likes him, so I can't say anything. The witches here - not the First Circle, the other ones - remind me of Terreille." A little shiver. "And then there's Karla."

Saetan frowns. "Tell me all about it." He mostly means about the man getting close to Jaenelle since that concerns Daemon too, but he's willing to hear it all.

[eyrienprince]

"His name is Lestat. He came a couple weeks ago and I didn't really like him to begin with. But apparently he befriended Jaenelle and so I got scolded for snarling at him. Publicly scolded." He shrugs one shoulder again. "There's not much I can do."

"What is so annoying about him other than his friendship with Jaenelle?" She needs friends, perhaps ones outside of the Blood.

[eyrienprince]

He paces a few steps. "I don't know! He just feels...off. Not tainted, but not right either. He seems almost like he's demon dead, but - not really. Different, somehow." He looks frustrated.

Saetan steps back to give his son room to move. "Well, I have nothing against demon dead personally. Has he tried to do more than be friendly with her?" There is a dangerous softness to his tone, but he's clearly waiting for more information.

[eyrienprince]

"Not that I know of," Lucivar snarls. "But Daemon's..." He stops. "He might. He seems like the type."

[hourglasspriest]

"And she doesn't see this? Perhaps I should talk to her." It would be better if Daemon did, but there's nothing to be done for that.

[eyrienprince]

"You know Jaenelle. She'd rather think the best of people if she can. And she's rather...naive about that sort of thing, besides." He frowns a little. "Maybe you should. I think the whole First Circle will be happy to see you."

[hourglasspriest]

"I'll do my best. If nothing else, she can get angry at me." No, he doesn't want that, but if it takes the heat off the others, it's part of his job.

"I think she'll probably be too busy trying to hug all the air out of you."
