Freyja is shining. She is gold and glittering and so full of power that it almost hurts to look at her. She has had her sacrifice; she killed her dark-haired boy at dawn and the thrill of it has not yet left her. He loved her, he offered himself up, and she took all he had. And it has made her strong. On a normal day, Freyja can start wars,

Mabon laughs at her, freely and like leaves in trees, rushing with wind.

She smiles at him and it is slightly smug but how can she not be?

He hasn't had a sacrifice in years, but that's all right; he has blood on his lips from a small animal he ate earlier. He bows to her.

"How are you, Mabon ap Modron?"

[lightningcurse]

"I have eaten the heart of my enemy," mildly.

[halftheslain]

She smiles. "I drank the blood of my lover."

[lightningcurse]

Again he laughs.

[halftheslain]

She smiles again, a bit proudly. "Do you want to see?" She can't help showing him off.

[lightningcurse]

"Yes." Mabon likes dead things as much as live things.

[halftheslain]

She drags him over to where Richard is and looks down at him proudly.

[lightningcurse]

He inspects the body and then looks up at Freyja and smiles, which clearly is an approval.

[halftheslain]

"Isn't he perfect?"

Typist: I totally lost that comment.

[lightningcurse]

"Well-slain."

[halftheslain]

"Thank you." She crouches down next to his body and runs a hand through his hair. "He really is delicious."

[lightningcurse]

Mabon smiles again and kneels to look at him; respectfully not touching him, as he is hers.

[halftheslain]

And now he is permanently marked as hers and she won't be letting anyone forget it. She looks over at Mabon. "You should get one of your own?"
