Richard does not keep any of his appointments today. In fact, no one at all has seen him, upon inquiry, since early yesterday evening.
No one who did not happen to venture out onto the grounds, and find him laid out among the flower gardens, dressed in fine Norse clothing, a gold band covering the nasty bruises on his neck and flowers woven in his hair. He is quite dead. He looks peaceful, except for the small smears of dried blood on his lips, more apparent in the his current, pale condition. The clothes show no other apparent blood, however, and except for his perfect stillness, he might be asleep.
