"Not surprising. Nearly everyone here is." This from a fellow who is grinning at Teddy from where he's leaning up against the wall.

He smiles, a bit wryly. "At least I'm not alone in having managed to misplace myself."

"Indeed. Rather peculiar place, this. Nice enough, though." He offers a grin and steps forward to offer a hand. "Khardeen."

He takes the hand and shakes it firmly. "Good to know and good to meet you."

"You too. Teddy Lupin? I met a fellow named Lupin. Any relation?"

"That depends. What was his first name?"

Khardeen frowns for a moment. "Remus, I think. Yeah, that was it."

"That's impossible." He doesn't sound too certain of that, though.

Khardeen's mouth twists a little. "Mmm. I assume you know him, then." Khardeen rolls his shoulders, looking vaguely unsettled. "I met someone I expected never to see again here, myself."

"He's my father. He was my father. He died when I was a baby."

Khardeen nods. "Yeah. Morton - a friend of mine - he died, back where I live. But he's here, and well."

"And you're sure it's him?"

[sceltwarlord]

His mouth twists. "Yeah. There's no way to fake a psychic scent, and it's his all right."

[earnedaplace]

"So the people who are here who -- are meant to be dead, it's really them, do you think?"

[sceltwarlord]

"I think so. I like to think I'm not easily fooled." He frowns slightly. "Your dad - did he read frequently? Friends with someone named James...?"

"His -- one of his best friends when he was young was James Potter, yes."
