"For the love of..." He rushes over and curses. "Least this one's still breathing for now. Nod if you can hear me, kid."

Eliza just barely manages a nod, drawing in a shuddering breath.

"Alright. I'm gonna go find Dr. Abernathy if I can." Very carefully, he shifts her into a more natural position and uses his tie for a makeshift bandage. "My name is Spade. If you need me, hand someone a note and they can find me. I'll be back p.d.q., though. Hang in there, kid."

Eliza bites down hard on her already bloodied lower lip as he moves her, but gives another weak nod.

Joe has heard gunshots, and is already heading down the stairs with his makeshift medical kit slung over one shoulder, searching for the source of the noise.

Karla is strolling in from the grounds when she sees the blood. So much blood. Her eyes widen and she descends to the Grey, the room temperature dropping rapidly as she hurries to Eliza, pulling her into her lap and beginning to weave a healing web desperately quickly, her anger making her hands tremble.

Eliza shivers as the room goes cold and tries to open her eyes. When she sees that it is Karla, she suppresses a sob of relief and clings, though without much strength.

The smell of blood hits Joe before he can see it, and he hurries down the remaining stairs, at a jog by the time he reaches them. "What happened here?" he asks in a surprisingly steady voice, kneeling beside Karla and Eliza.

Spade's just coming back, as he doesn't want to leave her too long. "Doc," he says, all business, "I found her on the floor, there -" he points, "signs of a struggle. Blade wound to the shoulder, gun did both her knees. Hand's messed up too, and she can't talk, but the last wasn't the fault of whatever bastard did it."

Karla tightens her hold and ties off the first weave so that it sinks into Eliza's skin and should help to stop some of the bleeding. She tries to put a leash on her temper, afraid that she may frighten Eliza. She looks up at the two males around her, seeming to notice them for the first time and snarls at them instinctively. "What are you doing here?"

"Helping, baby, if you don't scratch our eyes out. Joe's a doctor."

Her hackles go up. "He's a what?" She asks in a very mild voice. That sounds threatening, to her. "How's he going to help? Males aren't Healers."

"I'm good at what I do, ma'am," Joe assures her, in his low, soothing voice. "I can handle her shoulder and get the bullets out. But she's hurt bad. Magic's going to do more than medicine, if you can find someone."

She eyes him suspiciously, but there's no time. "I can heal her," she says. "It may take me a bit, though, and I'll need someone to hold onto her while I'm working."

Joe glances back at Eliza, frowning slightly -- his first instinct with a hurt person in the room is to take over, to set to work and not stop until he's done everything he can -- but nods. "I can do that."

"Thank you." She then retreats down into the abyss and begins weaving two healing webs, one for her shoulder and one for her knee. "If you can get the...bullets?...out of her knees, that would be helpful," she says.
