It's been a little over a week, and to Spade's knowledge, the young Victorian Alan Campbell (so identified, the typist is presuming, ala Richard Carstone - by his calling cards) has not yet returned to the land of the living. His concrete clues having led to nothing, Spade's asking around more or less at random - people who knew Campbell, people

With s amall frown, Armand approaches Spade. "What has happened now?"

"Another murder, I'm afraid."

[sweariwontdie]

Armand grimaces and rubs his eyes. "Who was it this time?"

[mancalledspade]

"A man named Alan Campbell. You happen to know him?"

[sweariwontdie]

Armand searches his memory. "If I ever did, I've forgotten it. Poor man."

[mancalledspade]

Spade nods. "It's been awhile, and he's not back yet. We'll see."

[sweariwontdie]

"Have you any idea who did it?"

[mancalledspade]

"Not yet. Rosier seems to have left, but it wasn't his style anyway. Until I find out more about who the hell Campbell was, I'm not going to get real far, though. I'm working on that."

Something lifted in Armand's heart at the news of Rosier's departure. Fewer dark wizards was good. "Ask... Dorian Gray who he was."

He had no idea why he said that. Perhaps it had come from his lost memories.

Spade raises an eyebrow, but nods and makes a note. "Thanks. I will. You know where I can find Gray?"

"Other than that I think he lives in the Mansion, no. He's going to get married soon, I think."

[mancalledspade]

Spade nods. "I'll keep an eye out. Thank you."

Armand nods back. "I wish you well."
