Here's a chaste young Christian novice sitting on the steps of the porch, watching the chariot come in -- the beauty of the woman makes him flush, and his own modesty forces him to avert his gaze. "Hello, Thor! Are you the only one here other than Loki?"

"I've seen Father. Sort of. And Baldr."

"Baldr?! He's alive?"

Here, have another hello-it's-a-virgin. He bows respectfully. "It is not a name I recall hearing, milady."

Eeek! The place is swarming with them! This must be fixed. "What a shame. I don't suppose you've heard of me?"

Good luck with that. "Should I have?"

"Everyone should know me. And you look like a warrior. If you are lucky I will choose you for my hall."

"He is here, and he will be glad enough to see you." He grins, "Welcome, Freyja."

"Baldr!" She comes up and embraces him. "How is it that you are alive?"

"I know not!" He laughs a little, disbelievingly, as he returns the hug, "Hel herself was not expecting to see me, and as yet no-one has stepped forward to claim my gratitude."

"What does it matter where the good fortune came from? You are here and alive, that's nothing short of a miracle."
