A blond, blue-eyed young man wearing a First Escort's ring on his left hand an an Opal on his right turns a corner and steps into the main room. He doesn't notice at first, because he's looking back over his shoulder and laughing at something one of the girls has said. When he noticed the abrupt change in surroundings he stops dead, looks around ( Read more... )

Armand recognizes at least one of the names the young man is calling. He heard the voice all the way in the kitchen. He looks out into the main room to see who it is. "Have you lost her, monsieur?" It's hard to imagine Karla being lost.

He's surprised to see Armand, simply because he doesn't recognize him. "Mother Night, I've lost the whole Keep. Is Karla here, have you seen her?" He'll worry about where he is when he knows Karla's alright, he may only be a Warlord but he can be as protective as any Prince when it comes to his cousin, even if she does wear the darker Jewel.

Just one look at Armand screams 'landen' though he seems completely non-plussed to meet someone of Blood. "How should I know? She doesn't stay in one place. Have you tried looking up a tree or in the lake?"

There is something magical about him, but not in him or recognizably Craft. He's wearing a ring on his right hand with protective magic in it. And there is something up his sleeve that exudes a small amount of soothing magic.

That's definately Karla alright, and he calms a (very) little. "But she is here somewhere? She's alright?" He does pick up the scent of strange magic, which he'll have to look into...as soon as he finds out where his cousin's gotten to.

"Yes, somewhere," he says re-assuringly. Something in the kitchen behind him hisses and he ducks back inside with a muttered, "Oh damn!"

There's a clatter of pots for a few moments, then he comes back to the door, a bit red-faced. "Ummm... sorry. Honestly, you should look outside. The weather has been excellent. She's likely there, or maybe on the porch." He finally slows down enough to get a good look at Morton. "Why are you so worried, monsieur. Surely if you know her, you know she can take care of herself."

"I'm Armand, by the way. Sorry for the lack of formalities. I'm trying not to ruin the baby's formula." He glances anxiously back inside the kitchen from the doorway.

"Because a moment ago we were in the middle of the Keep with the rest of the coven and the boyos and now I'm here and I don't know where everyone else is. He pauses, takes a deep breath, and reigns in his temper and the flash of panic that had taken hold when he'd found himself here alone. "Warlord Morton, Karla's cousin and First Escort." He runs a hand back through his light blond hair and sighs. "I won't keep you longer, then. I'll check outside. Thank you."

"Feel free to bother me any time, Warlord." Armand smiles, and his offer is genuine. "Please don't worry too much about how you got here. The Mansion just does that. You'll have friends here. And possibly a few surprises." Armand can only hope they're pleasant ones. Then with a smile and a nod in lieu of a bow, he turns back into the kitchen.

Morton hopes they're pleasant as well. Armand's easy certainty that Karla is alright is reassuring, and when he goes looking for her after Armand returns to the kitchen it's with a little less urgency.
