Enter a man of Venice, through the main doors--having just been chastised not to give up Portia's ring again, he turns to reassure her again of his goodwill--
--and finds that she, and for that matter, everyone else, is quite gone. Moreover, he discovers that this is not Belmont, but some other place entirely, and very strangely kept. He looks around once, and then calls, "Hallo?"
Typist: Bassanio from Merchant of Venice--long-promised, finally-delivered. ^_^;; He has been taken from the very end of the play, for what that's worth to the other MoV characters wandering about.
