*there's someone new at the mansion, but he's not staring in befuddlement as most new people are, nor exclaiming in surprise that he isn't at Gregory's summer house any longer. instead, he's wandering the halls, standing outside the doorways where conversations are occurring, peering through windows at people in the gardens, and at last settling at the piano, where he plays what he can remember of the overtures from musicals. he pauses frequently, improvising new tunes from the tried-and-trues--and in such pauses, perhaps he's open to being bothered*
