D'Angelines love a reason to celebrate, and of all the annual reasons to celebrate, Alcuin's favorite is spring. So he's prepared a vast picnic outside, with plenty of sweets and baked goods along with other foods, and bottles of cordials, sparkling wines and juices, bouquets of flowers from the gardens and wildflowers from the meadows. Karla blinks and looks around at the flowers and food spread on the grass. She bends down and holds out her hand for the puppy to sniff. "Hello?" she says questioningly. "What on earth is going on here?"

"It's the first of May. A celebration of spring." Alcuin smiles, giving her a flower. "For your hair. Help yourself to anything if you're hungry."

Karla looks at the flower and after a moment's hesitation, tucks it into her hair with a shrug. "Hell with it. I like celebrations." At the mention of food, she brightens even more. "Mm. That sounds good. Did you make all of it?"

"I did." Alcuin smiles, gesturing for her to help herself. "I have a bit of a sweet tooth, so there are more cakes and pastries than actual food, but you're welcome to anything."

"Sweet tooth? I have a sweet mouth. Anything sweet would be wonderful." She grins and piles a plate with sweet things. Biting into a small pastry, she closed her eyes in bliss. "Mmmm. Delicious."

Alcuin smiles, pleased. "I'm glad you like it. Try the sparkling cordials, as well."
