And, here's a relatively quiet, average-looking sixteen year old boy, looking mildly bewildered as he takes in his new surroundings. He is quite sure that he is not in his hometown anymore, but doesn't question it further. He wants to ask where, exactly, he is, but does not know how to approach anyone, more content to just look around and

Armand is sitting on the floor of the main room, trying to practice whittling. He's gotten the right sort of knife from the plothole. He looks up and smiles at the young man, not at all thinking of the fact that he would appear armed. "Bonjour, are you new?"

Leo looks down, alarmed, blinking at him for a moment, taking a small step backwards. "Bonj-- Hi. I- Yeah, I'm new."

Armand sees the alarm and realizes the cause. "Oh no, I was only caving a bunny." He climbs to his feet. "I'm Armand St. Just. Welcome to the Mansion." And he bows.

"I'm Leo." He feels the need to return the bow and does so awkwardly. "The Mansion?" he repeats. "Where is this place, anyway?"

[sweariwontdie]

Armand crouches to collect the carving knife and the half-finsihed bunny and put them in his pocket. "I'm happy to meet you, M. Leo. I wish I could tell you that. No one really knows." Then he stands again and brushes the wood dust from his clothes and hands.

"Oh, oh...kay," Leo mutters, glancing around for a moment. He does not question this anymore, though it is apparent that he is still contemplating this. "It's a nice place."

"It can be," Armand agrees, "but I can take no responsibility for any of it, except perhaps my own company." He giggles.

"I... oh." Leo chuckles, feeling as if it was the polite thing to do. "So," -he figures he should just ask questions since this man is being so nice- "people just show up, right? That's what I'm assuming. Do they come from just... all over the place?"

"As far as I can tell, everywhere and every time. Where are you from M. Leo?"

[porcupineties]

"Arizona. Where are you from?"

[sweariwontdie]

"Originally Paris. I lived in England for a time before ending up here."

[porcupineties]

"Do you know a Stargirl?" he asks out of the blue.

[sweariwontdie]

He did, but he's forgotten her with his recent attack of amnesia.

"I am afraid not."

Leo smiles. "You'll see her and know it's her."

[sweariwontdie]

"Why?" Armand smiles. "What's so special about this girl?"

"She's just... she's Stargirl." He shrugs sheepishly, unable to find words to correctly describe her.
