(Did you really expect him not to post on his own day?) Anyway, y'all, here's one ridiculously bouncy god of love, sprawled out near a table full of all the sorts of things you'd expect to see on Valentine's. Tom wandered over and puzzled at the objects on the table. It looked like a stall set out for market day but what odd items were for sale. "Excuse me, sir. What is all this?"

Tom lacked a calendar and had no idea as to the date. "Your birthday, sir?"

Oh...Tom knew all about the day of St. Valentine. Those things on the table must be strange new tokens of affection. "God, sir?" Tom hasa already had one confusing discussion on the subject of gods and is not quite ready to believe in more then one yet.

*pretty smile* Yep. Ever heard of Eros? Or Cupid, but if you call me that, I'll hurt you.

"I read the works of the Greeks in my younger days." He has decided to ignore the god part and act accordingly. "Thomas Jones at your service, sir," he said with a polite bow.

Tom looked over the table at a loss for something familiar. He picked up one of the roses and twirled it idly in his fingers. "Thank you, sir," he smiled at Eros.

*nice, Tom! --Did we mention Eros forgot to make these not work on himself?* *so he'll step closer, smiling* No problem.

"Amazing that you could find roses at this time of the year! Though, there is a cupboard in the kitchen that produces items through enchantment. But that makes food not flowers. Oh, wait! It made utensils so maybe it could also make---" Tom continues to ramble oblivious to all emotional signals. The poor boy has a very one track mind and right now it's still stuck on the rose.

Have a Richard. A Richard who, upon drawing closer, is suddenly very uncomfortable due to previous assumptions about himself and their undermining.

A Richard who is going to try to go away without Tom noticing him.

Tom grins from ear to ear. His friend is back! "Hello, Mr. Carstone! How are you today?"

"I'm...I'm quite well thank you." Richard is looking at a spot just over Tom's left shoulder. "How are you, Mr. Jones?"

"Splendid! I was wondering if you knew where a record player might be found." It rather unnerves Tom that Richard won't look him in the eyes. Perhaps he has decided to rethink Tom's offer of friendship? He smiles anyway.

This is a sufficiently strange request to distract Richard, at least momentarily, and he looks at Tom, puzzled. "Record player? What is that?" Looking Tom in the face presents new problems, but Richard knows how rude it would be to quickly look away.

Besides, Tom really had a...very nice face.
