*grins* 'Twould take a magic greater than exists for thou to speak in sense, dear Curio.

*laughs* Still do I wish thee well in this, thy quest. But prithee, wilt thou tell how went the former? Hast thou been conqueror or conquered?

*slight, private smile, and then scribles a (not slight at all, not private at all) summary--* With many beauteous women in this place did I converse--but each did me reject. One thought the courtier's lot was sly and low; another had a lover far away. Far better luck, though, had thy scheme with men, for one Laertes of Prince Hamlet's court did give me conversation, touch my hand, and offer me to fence with him--or more, but though we walked together for a time, quite suddenly was he then called away. *a grin, as he writes* He is as fair a man as I could dream, were I to dream the fairest living man.

How oft have I thee told, look not to women? *teasing grin* Laertes... my love hath spoke of him. So fair as that? I start to grieve I was not born in Denmark.

*laughs--and then reveals that yes, he can speak--* So fair that, though thy company delights, and brightly lights my moments each to each, I would as well have to the North repaired, if only for the splendour of their men--a very Northern Light Laertes is. *and with his speech have returned the puns.*

*had been looking at the paper, and now looks up, startled and pleased* What is't I hear? It soundeth like to sense...

*hugsonhim* Like to sense? As same is like to same! 'Tis sense exemplar, sense's paragon!

*laughs and hugs back* Mayhap 'tis so, my friend, mayhap 'tis so. In any case, 'tis good to hear thy voice!

'Tis better still to make it issue forth. *laughs* Do tell me--what devices snare a Dane? For thou hast caught and tamed one of their men, and though I would not make of him a pet, I would see this Laertes once again--but public notice seems a chancy way to catch attention once it has been lost.

*a silly, nostalgic smile* I met mine Osric when I first arrived, and won him after I did see him faint.

*sorrowfully* Nay, for I could not reach him fast enough! Destruction of a suit did make him faint, but shopping for another cured his ills.

*a crooked sort of grin* What, didst thou make him suit when next he woke, and leave him clad in gossamer delights? A rogue thou art, my friend, as low as I!

*laughs* As low as thee? I pray unsay thy words! *grins* And yet I do admit that by day's end, with shopping through and glorious treasures found, we both were clad in naught but joy and air.
