"Is anyone putting on any play or perhaps an opera around here? Or else is there actually any nearby theatres performing anything of importance? I do feel like taking in a show."
"For the right price I will even compose it myself." He speaks as if it would be an honor for anyone to put on a composition of his... and it ought to be. The man is a musical genius, if a bit of a scociopath.
"For me to compose an opera in three parts, to cast and rehearse it will take five weeks from begining to end, assuming there is a sufficient talent pool here at the Mansion. If casting takes longer than a week, the time increases." Erik estimates, doing the calculations quickly in his head.
"To use someone elses composition would take less time. Three weeks, perhaps four if I am delayed because of casting."
He purses his lips, thinking about it. "Such a long time..," he says with a sigh. "But very well." He puts out a hand. "My name is Dowd. Would you need any help? I can be a .. diligent assistant. I am primarily an actor but I am not so familiar with operatic acting so for this I will play spectator only."
Erik does not accept the man's hand. Not exactly a people-person, you see.
"Indeed. And that is pushing the performers to their limits, but man can only be pushed so far."
"I am Erik. And I will not need any help, unless you would like to work as a stage hand. I've an idea already for a story, if you would like to hear the score I can have the first act ready in three days."
"Perhaps I will just be patron for now," he says, dropping his hand again and sounding as if he's putting down the idea of being a stage hand as beneath him. "You will contact me in about three day's time then?"
"I might be enticed into putting on such a thing."
