Approaching him from behind, she looks over his shoulder, missing his frustrated expression. "Is that for my birthday?" she asks in a light, teasing tone.
*sits beside him, eyes forward* "Oh...you couldn't find someone to help with that, right?" A minuscule part is curious why he didn't ask her, but in light of the most recent drama with Malfoy, the larger part is glad Jackrabbit didn't.
The more she's around him, the more she realizes -- somewhat reluctantly -- how much his well-being concerns her. Right now, seeing like this is -- what's his phrase? -- "bumping her".
Picking up the material, she smooths it out, all the while thinking how to lighten Rabbit's mood. If he were one of 'the girls', a nice round of shopping would do the trick.
"Why the rush, Jackrabbit? You have time to be a...mother." It's weird to say that about a man...quite weird.
*continues smoothing out the material, and then reaches for his sewing stuff* He needs a distraction...
"I don't think mother--parenting is something to just jump into, not around here, anyways." She lifts the needle and thread, having enough sense not to poke herself.
She pulls the needle away from him. "How do I sew a flimsy?" She rotates the needle, looking for the way the thread is supposed to connect until she sees the small hole.
To the outsider she no doubt looks like an idiot, but when has she ever needed to learn sewing? She's a Pureblood witch from a wealthy family. That kind of work was done by the house elves, on rare occasions. She and her mother usually bought replacement clothes instead of bothering with repairs.

Twice.
Three times.
Four times.
*frowning more* "You've got to be kidding," she grumbles. "It won't fit. The thread's too thick or something."
