Every kid knows that you have to be on your absolute best behavior all year long, but particularly within the thirty days previous to Christmas Eve. Then, generally, your parents will be swept into the glorious and generous feeling of the holiday and forgive you of the rest of the year, just as long as you do your best during the holiday season.
If a kid ever wanted to get an official Red Ryder carbine action two-hundred shot range model air rifle, then on their best behavior they must be.
I, of course, was the epitome of good behavior, or, at least, I tried.
I was walking while in deep concentration, my brow creased in thought. I was trying to devise a plan that would prove my worthiness and responsibility as a nine year old to recieve the holy grail of Christmas gifts.Nothing could break my concentration.
T: Welcome Ralphie Parker of Jean Shephards "In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash" and, more recognizably I'm sure, A Christmas Story. Yes, I am going to try to stay in canon and do this first person prose style. Merry Christmas!
