*has come, by now, to see Feanor as a steady man and worthy of respect for his craftsmanship--and even if he doesn't particularly want to see anything crafted--* If you would be fully willing, I would like to rent the honor of your humble hearth and smithy. Long I must endure the winter 'til I can my brother follow; in the time before this journey, I would shape some modest trinkets. *like those things he's promised he'd make--*

*see, the problem is, Ilmarinen is almost a friend by now, and Fëa has problems with charging friends...* Humble hearth?!?! Well, certainly! I should like to see some of your work, anyway; it's always quite inspiring to see a fellow craftsman at his work...

Modesty is traditional! A bevy of golden maidens is "modest"! For the gift of work and lodging, I can summon ores assorted for us both to shape and fashion. Would this price pass your fair judgment?

Well not for me! *smart Ilmarinen - that's something Fëa can accept!* *smiles* I believe it would.

*poor Ilmarinen--he has no other resources, and Fea is already a master craftsman!* Then I will this payment render when you next require metal. May I go to use your smithy? I have many orders waiting, fish to make, and golden maidens, and some shining bits of jewelry, and I would repay my owing.

That which I might need for crafting, I can find with ease and safety; later, if you would be willing, I should like to have the knowing of both cutting fine and setting gemstones of surpassing beauty.

You want me to teach you?

*half-a-smile* There is magic in my working, skill in how I shape the metal--but the greatest master-craftsman, knowing of his minor weakness, must bend knee to an apprentice if that boy can teach him better. How, then, should I be dishonored--not the greatest, not the lowest--to be taught by you, a master?

Oh, I am quite interested in your skill and magic, too. But I shall gladly teach you jewelcraft.

*Ilmarinen has no idea how much the idea of having a -hopefully talented - apprentice glees Fëa*
