'Ello, 'ello, 'ello

Well, thats twice in about 2 months I have been stopped for alleged driving offences by the constabulary. The first time I will forgive them as how are they to know that accelerating up to and then dropping back from the vehicle in front is caused by driving an old, heavy diesel car up hills when their vehicles are designed to chase stuff somewhat quicker and driving up hills isn't a challenge.

This evening's was just plain rude though. I am warned for driving through a red light when the thing was, I believe, green, and if amber it had only just changed. So sure was I of my ground I asked Mr. Plod whether he had actually seen me go through the light and it turned out he had watched me accelerate through the light and was, and I quote, 'Fairly sure' it had been red. Of course, if he had been looking at the light rather than my car then he might have been in a better position to comment. I suspect he was looking at the straight ahead light (I turned right) which was indeed red and went from there.

Ironically, he must have either run the light himself to be where he was when I saw him or must have been waiting on a completely different part of the junction. Either way...

Needless to say he had no proof. He 'warned' me, I agreed to be warned and he buggered off.

There. Not that interesting or relevant but at least I've got it off my chest.
