[You can watch this weird guy in the park setting up which looks like... well it doesn't really look like anything recognizable. Just a mix of random pieces of household items somehow held together to make some sort of device]
[ oh. wow. after a couple minutes of shameless, silent staring, he's going to get up and -- walk a bit closer. not too close, lingering an armslength away. but -- a bit closer. hands jammed in his pockets as he studies whatever's being set up here here. ]
[The Doctor fiddles a bit more with his contraption, tighting screws with a small wrench before he shifts and turns to the boy]
Alright, you, take what you're holding and stick it in here-[He gestures to a slot on the... machine]-while I start it up and see if she goes. Come on then!
[He pulls out another object from his pocket and flicks it on, it emits a strange noise and the light on the end flickers. And the machine he made turns on as well, making a soft whirring noise]
Ah this old thing? It just makes tea. It also might double as a toaster but that bit is still a bit funny sometimes. Nearly burnt down the kitchen.
So you ... brought it out to the park to test it. [ he sounds skeptical as he takes a careful step back. the word 'burnt down' makes him a bit tense. ]
Wouldn't it be easier to just make tea on the stove?
