"You're Dead To Me"
The ambulance would arrive at four in the morning
With at least seven patients that were still living.
In the month of September, some four hundred patients died.
The world was occupied
with the lucky that had survived.
We all looked forward to find out who would die next.
Guessing more than few was your best bet.
Looking for a cure was no use.
Like looking for a needle in a haystack, we had no clue.
Killing the weak, the very young, and the very old
This death toll left us in a world to suffer in, a world so cold.
It was now the strong who were dying.
Left on stretchers. Left there crying.
The death rate left only pain.
What used to be didn't go back to it's way,
nothing was the same.
Death carts now roamed the city.
The scene was death, it was not pretty.
So many of us died alone.
Our only company had fled our homes.
Not wanting to catch the virus, they got away.
What will be the last word you say?
What will make your history when you break down?
Or will you stay quiet, not making a sound?
Your kiss is contagious. You are the death of me.
Cut out your epidemic, and make your destiny.
Parades through the streets didn't come around often.
The ones you'd see were the gathering around a coffin.
With masks on our faces, He should have died, and I should have lived.
The inevitable happened, this is what fate did.
As soon as the dying stopped
We all went on and forgot.
Our way of moving on was to forget.
A time to forget the memories, but I won't just yet.
I realized that we are not safe, it isn't gone.
This is what happens, the death leads to dawn.
