There and back again

One of my very good friends (Sian) has moved to England for a whole year! ;_;
I gave her a giant book of cocktails to keep her occupied :P

Schoolies wasn't as wild or rambunctious as I'd imagined - on the contrary, it was a wonderful holiday away from home up at Byron Bay (which has really nice beaches and a lot of hippies).
And although I didn't become roaring drunk (I was most likely the only one sober for most of the week), I have found a taste for Malibu and am now determined to make a Mojito with some :P

My cousin celebrated his 21st with his friends and family - because of this I was commissioned to make the cake

So, using the recipe given to me by my best friend's mum, I made a moist chocolate fudge cake that surprisingly doesn't need eggs.
So, First I combined all of the dry ingredients together (I multiplied the amount of ingredients by 4)

Putting that aside, The butter and golden syrup were melted together

Mixing this and the dry ingredients together...

Starts to give it a fudge-like consistency...

In another bowl, milk and vanilla bean paste were mixed together

Putting this in with the rest of the mixture made a really yummy cake batter (in which I had to bat away my mother to stop her from putting her finger in the bowl >.>)

Poured into a square tin (twice) made a giant rectangle which I proceeded to decorate!

Yummm!

I also met Greg. He's awesome :)

And from long ago, photos from my camera when I should have been studying Biology.
