Warnings/Notes: Made for waywardmixes. Trying not to be too ambitious since this is my second mix ever. Also, spoilers.
At the beginning of the series, Sansa is an 11-year-old girl, who believes in fairy tales and songs. She is beautiful, taking after her mother with auburn hair, bright blue eyes, and high cheekbones. She has a direwolf named Lady., and she loves lemoncakes. She when her mother brushes her hair.
Then her father, Eddard Stark, is given the position of Hand of the King, and she is moved from her home of Winterfell, to the South and King's Landing.
But in King's Landing her father is betrayed, and then murdered by the boy she thought she loved. She is kept as a prisoner in the South while brother fights a war to get her and her sister, Arya, back. And Sansa's belief that life is like a fairy tale is destroyed.
"I am loyal to my beloved Joffrey."
Sansa is scared, but she's a Stark. She's brave and strong. So when she is forced into this betrothal with Joffrey after her father is beheaded in front of her, she doesn't break down in front of the Lannisters or beg for compassion. She puts on mask, a farce that leads people to believe she is still in love with monster who murdered who father.

Sansa was just eleven when A Game of Thrones started. She was just a child, but the terrible things that the people did to her got rid of child's heart quickly. She no long believes in fairy tales and songs, but she still wants to be innocent and naive of the things she's seen, like the Tyrell cousins.

Sansa's whole story, to me, revolves around lying,or "singing," to appease her captors and save her life, and how taxing it is. Although that might not be what the quote really means, that's what it means to me.

With all that Sansa's experienced, it's not surprising that she might feel defeated; that she might feel like no matter what she does, the hungry, enterprising Lannisters will always win.

My headcanon for Sansa is that she grows up and travels back to Winterfell, and stakes her claim in the North as queen. She has become tough and resilient, or in Catelyn's words, "as fierce and hard as the North."
