and you are simply DYING to help me out with this research paper.

I'm investigating the history of the words "fag" and "dyke" and what they mean/represent in modern society. part of my investigation involves getting responses from people about what these words mean to them. That's where you come in.

If you want to help me out (you owe me a favor, don't you?), then

Questionnaire Concerning the Words “Fag” and “Dyke”

How would you define the word “fag”? Does it have a different meaning than the word “gay”?

How would you define the word “dyke”? Does it have a different meaning than the word “lesbian”?

Are you offended by the words “fag” or “dyke”? Why/why not?

Have you ever heard “fag” or “dyke” used in a negative/insulting way? Describe the interaction(s).

Has “fag” or “dyke” been directed at you in a negative/insulting way? Do you think this greatly influences your opinion of the words?

Do you find use of the words “fag” or “dyke” indicative of homophobia? Why/why not?

Is it possible for a minority group to reclaim words with negative stigmas and use them positively?
