[16:52] Witch: that said, when the 2nd amendment was written the American way of life was entirely different. People had to defend themselves, their families and homes. Wild animals, usually no one else around for miles, etc.

[16:52] Witch: strictly speaking, there is no -need- for them now.
[16:53] Witch: Lots of countries don't allow guns amoung the common folk. And this is reflected in their minimal to nothing gun violence, especially compared to us.

[16:54] Witch: I believe there should be stricter background checks, automatic weapons should be a no no (joe schmoe has no need for automatic weapons) smaller clips, etc.
