bin laden is dead. They have his body and it was a U.S. military action that killed him.

I was tired last night so I just posted that they got him and not my feelings on the subject. Being the person I am, I find it a little distasteful to cheer for anyone's death. But how can you help it in this case? I think I am allowed to give a small cheer, a sigh of relief, to have a little feeling of triumph, a small ray of hope.
In my eyes I look back on that day 09/11/01 as they day we all lost something we just took for granted. Our belief in the relative safety of the U.S., maybe some of our innocence, though granted we didn't have -much- left, but he stole the rest; perhaps even some naïveté, a strong world given the state of the word, even back then.
As I watched the Towers topple, my mouth open, it was so sureal, like a scene from some disaster movie. And this man, orchestrated the whole thing. How can you not give at least a small hurrah, a larger, way to go! And hope, hope that this will be the shot in the arm we all need. Not just us in the United States, but all the nations all over the world who have been fighting to end his reign of terror. Will this one singular act end it? No, of course not, but I think they've pulled a load bearing wall from beneath the structure of terrorism. For he, he (I refuse to say his name again) was the poster boy, the face that had always embodied the horror of it's intolerance.
So allow me my Pollyanna moment, I don't usually indulge them. I think everyone is allowed a little cock-eyed optimisim...after nine very long years.
